Pajama elder Buga Amin Dralega has called on residents of Pajama, Yumbe District, to support Seaborn Star Football Club through financial contributions, food supplies and other resources to help the team participate in football competitions.
Buga made the appeal on October 24, 2026, during a blessing prayer organised by the club’s founder and director, Aluma Benard, as Seaborn Star FC prepares for the 2026/2027 football season.
Speaking after being given an opportunity to offer blessing prayers for the team, Buga urged community members to make small but meaningful contributions to support the players and their activities.
He said the money collected could help cover transportation costs for players and supporters travelling to away matches.
According to Buga, community support should not be limited to words of encouragement but should include practical assistance that enables the club to meet its daily needs and fulfil its sporting ambitions. “We should not just say we support the team with our mouths. We need to show that support through action,” he said.
Buga also encouraged residents to contribute food items, including beans and cassava flour, which could be prepared into meals for players during training sessions, matches and other team activities.
He emphasised that even small contributions from several community members could make a difference in helping the club manage its expenses.
Buga further appealed to Pajama natives living outside the area to join the effort by providing financial or material assistance to the team.
He said supporting Seaborn Star FC should be a collective responsibility for the Pajama community, regardless of where its members currently live.
The appeal highlights the importance of community participation in grassroots football, where local clubs often depend on contributions from residents, well-wishers and supporters to meet transportation, feeding and other operational costs.
Seaborn Star FC was established by Aluma Benard to provide opportunities for young people in the community to develop their football talents and participate in organised sports.
As the club prepares for the 2026/2027 season, support from local residents and Pajama natives living elsewhere could help strengthen its preparations and improve its ability to compete against other teams.
Buga’s message was clear: support for Seaborn Star FC must go beyond words and be demonstrated through practical contributions that help the team grow.
