Arsenal have made a statement at the start of the 2026/27 Premier League season, opening their title defence with a convincing 3–0 victory over Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium.

The reigning champions controlled the match and took the lead through Kai Havertz, before Bukayo Saka doubled the advantage. Captain Martin Ødegaard then completed the scoring after the break to seal a comfortable win.

The victory comes just days after Arsenal defeated Manchester City 3–0 in the Community Shield, giving Mikel Arteta's side a perfect start to the competitive campaign.

For Arsenal fans, the early signs are encouraging. The Gunners have shown attacking confidence, defensive discipline and the determination expected from a team aiming to retain the Premier League crown.

After winning the title last season, Arsenal now face the bigger challenge of defending it. Their opening performance suggests Arteta's men are ready for that challenge.

Arsenal 3–0 Coventry City. A strong start, a clean sheet and three points — exactly what the champions needed.
