Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2–1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, maintaining their perfect start to the Premier League season and providing the headline result of an action-packed weekend.
Chelsea stunned the home crowd when Morgan Rogers struck inside the opening two minutes, but Arsenal quickly recovered. Kai Havertz levelled in the 25th minute before Martin Ødegaard completed the comeback five minutes after the restart.
The victory leaves Arsenal on nine points from three matches, level with Manchester City at the top of the early Premier League table. Chelsea remain on six points after suffering their first defeat of the campaign.
Arsenal's win also extends their strong recent record against their London rivals, while manager Mikel Arteta's side continues to build momentum in their title defence.
Manchester United held by Everton
Earlier on Sunday, Manchester United were held to a 2–2 draw by Everton in a dramatic encounter.
United twice took the lead, but Everton refused to surrender and secured a point through Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who scored a late equaliser on his debut. The result left United with four points from three matches.
Liverpool maintain unbeaten start
Liverpool continued their unbeaten beginning to the campaign with a 2–0 victory away to Ipswich Town on Friday.
The result strengthened Liverpool's position among the early contenders, although they remain behind the leading sides on points.
Manchester City keep winning
Manchester City maintained their perfect record with a narrow 1–0 victory over Coventry City on Saturday.
Erling Haaland scored the decisive goal as City moved to nine points from three matches and remained among the early pace-setters.
