Michelle Corral Steps Into Her Mission as a Packed Nsambya Hall Roars With Praise

KAMPALA, Uganda — American evangelist and philanthropist Dr. Michelle Corral stepped forward to begin her ministry at the 3rd East Africa Fire & Anointing Pastors Conference, addressing a packed Nsambya Youth Sharing Centre with a message urging believers to trust God with battles they cannot fight on their own.

The conference brought together pastors, church leaders and delegates from across East Africa and beyond, with participants travelling from Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, South Sudan and other African countries. Uganda was also widely represented, with delegates from different regions attending the gathering, including West Nile, which was represented by a delegation that travelled from Bidi Bidi refugee settlement.

The afternoon sun beat down on Kampala as hundreds of delegates filled the centre to capacity. Inside the hall, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation, with worship, applause and praise rising from the congregation as people waited for Corral to begin her message.

When she stepped onto the platform, attention quickly turned towards her. Holding her Bible, Corral greeted the congregation with a warm, “Amen and amen! Praise the Lord,” prompting a loud response from worshippers.

Corral began her message by opening the Bible to Psalm 35, where she invited a Nigerian pastor attending the conference to read the opening verse.

The scripture became the foundation of Corral’s opening message as she challenged the congregation to consider David’s response to those who opposed him.

She said David did not declare that he would fight every battle himself or defend himself against every rumour, attack or plan of the enemy. Instead, he appealed to God to fight on his behalf.

Corral then connected the passage to the personal struggles of people in the congregation, saying many had spent too long relying on their own strength to deal with difficult situations. “I came to tell someone here today—you have been fighting in your own strength for too long,” she said.

“You've been staying awake at night, trying to solve problems that only the Almighty God can fix. But today, the Lord is stepping into your battle.”

Her declaration drew loud applause and cheers from the packed hall as worshippers responded to the message. Corral encouraged the congregation to surrender their burdens to God instead of allowing difficult circumstances to consume them.

“Sit back, take a breath, and watch God take over your case,” she told the worshippers.

The congregation responded with a resounding “Amen,” followed by sustained applause.

As the message continued, Corral turned her attention to the pastors and church leaders gathered for the conference. She urged them to use the gathering as an opportunity to strengthen their faith, renew their commitment to ministry and prepare themselves to serve their communities more effectively.

She said her prayer was that participants would leave the conference strengthened and equipped to preach the Gospel, win souls and make a positive difference in society.

“So, my prayer is that each one of you will be strengthened during this conference, equipped, and go out to preach the Gospel, win souls, and make the world a better place,” Corral said.

“God bless you.” The congregation responded with another round of applause and cheers as the Nigerian pastor interpreted the message for the audience.

Corral’s opening sermon set the tone for her ministry at the conference, placing faith, surrender and reliance on God at the centre of her message. Before a hall filled to capacity, she urged believers to stop carrying every battle alone and to trust God to intervene where human strength ends.

The session marked the beginning of Corral’s ministry engagement at the conference, where pastors and church leaders from Uganda and across Africa have gathered for preaching, prayer, fellowship and spiritual preparation.

The presence of delegates from Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, South Sudan and other African countries, alongside Ugandan participants from across the country, gave the gathering a distinctly regional character. The participation of the West Nile delegation, including refugees from Bidi Bidi, further reflected the conference’s reach beyond national and regional boundaries.
