KAMPALA — Nearly 600 pastors from Uganda and more than 10 countries are expected to converge in Kampala for the East Africa Fire and Anointing Pastors’ Conference, an international Christian gathering led by American pastor, philanthropist and Bible teacher Dr. Michelle Corral.
The two-day conference is scheduled for August 24 and 25 at the Sharing Youth Centre in Kampala and will focus on prayer, Bible teaching, fellowship, Christian leadership and spiritual renewal.
The conference was announced during a press conference held at Platinum Hotel, Nsambya, Kampala, where organisers and participating church leaders outlined their expectations for the gathering.
Dr. Corral is the president and founder of Breath of the Spirit Ministries International and has been preaching for nearly five decades. Organisers describe her as an internationally recognised Bible teacher and humanitarian whose ministry has reached audiences across the world.
The conference is being hosted in partnership with Heal the Planet Global Organisation, led by Dr. Kivumbi Ernest Benjamin.
Dr. Kivumbi said the organisation, which holds special consultative status with the United Nations, has previously hosted international conventions, senior citizens’ gatherings and pastors’ meetings in Uganda.
“We have contributed significantly to the UN agenda and development goals for the last 10 years as a non-governmental organisation,” he said.
He said the organisation’s experience in hosting international gatherings had helped create a platform for Christian leaders from different countries to meet in Uganda.
“We have also hosted pastors' gatherings and meetings,” Dr. Kivumbi said.
Uganda’s role in revival
Bishop Tomson Enock Byamugisha, lead pastor of Mount Zion Repentance Churches and an overseer within the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches, said Uganda has a significant role to play in what he described as a coming global Christian revival.
Welcoming Dr. Corral to Uganda, Bishop Byamugisha described her as a spiritually influential Christian leader with a strong humanitarian record.
“We are privileged to welcome a truly called and chosen woman of God, a mother of nations, who carries a powerful spiritual mantle,” he said.
He said Uganda has been identified through prophetic declarations as a potential starting point for global revival.
“It has been prophesied and declared that the global revival will begin right here in Uganda. There is no doubt about this promise,” he said.
Bishop Byamugisha said Christian influence should extend beyond churches into what he described as the Seven Mountains of Cultural Influence — family, media, politics and government, business and finance, arts and entertainment, education and religion.
“True revival must manifest across all seven of these spheres to establish the Kingdom of God on earth,” he said.
He also highlighted Dr. Corral’s humanitarian work, saying her ministry demonstrates the importance of putting faith into practical action.
“The world is eager to see compassion demonstrated through action,” he said.
Bishop Byamugisha said Dr. Corral’s work includes ministering to war-affected communities and supporting vulnerable people, including feeding communities in Katanga.
“Her mission here is to impart spiritual fire and leadership insight, empowering individuals across both ministry and societal spheres,” he said.
He urged journalists to give the conference adequate coverage and communicate its activities to audiences beyond Uganda.
“I urge our media partners to broadcast this mission clearly to the world, as we prepare to witness a powerful revival,” he said.
Nigerian pastor explains conference theme
Rev. Dr. Triumph Ikechukwu Ndukwe, General Overseer of House of Faith Ministries Worldwide in Nigeria, said the theme “Fire and Anointing” represents the work of the Holy Spirit.
“The symbol of fire represents the Holy Spirit’s purifying power,” Ndukwe said.
He said the biblical symbolism of fire represents purification, transformation, light and direction.
“Fire ignites, and it can burn down, destroy, or make,” he said.
Ndukwe referred to the biblical account of the Israelites being guided through the wilderness by a pillar of fire, saying the imagery demonstrated how fire can provide direction and prevent people from stumbling.
“When the fire is there, it enables a nation to stand and not stumble,” he said.
He added: “When the fire appears, it makes a way for people to rejoice. It makes sure that you are not in the dark.”
Ndukwe thanked Dr. Corral for bringing the conference to Africa, saying the gathering would also allow Christian leaders from different countries to share the message with their communities.
“It is a privilege that Ugandans are enjoying,” he said.
“For us from West Africa, we are also here. We want to take this fire, because if we ignite this fire, we take it to other nations — to our own nations — so that the fire can also bring forth light to us,” Ndukwe added.
Pastors travel from abroad
The conference has attracted Christian leaders from Uganda, Nigeria, Pakistan and other countries.
Bishop Paul of Pakistan said he travelled to Uganda specifically to attend the two-day conference.
“I attend the conference 24th to 25th. After 25th, I come back to Pakistan. I came only for my visit aim: attend the conference,” he said.
Bishop Paul also praised the Ugandan organisers for their hospitality and coordination.
The organising team includes Apostle East Voice Frank Ssebatta, who is responsible for brand management, while Pastor Patience Ssempala, lead pastor of Fire Word Network Ministries in Najjera 1, is also part of the team.
Pastor Gerald Kawuki is overseeing protocol, accommodation and conference management, while Pastor Rosette Nsige, lead pastor of Kingdom Social Teach Church in Lweza and a women leader in Mityana-Ssabagabo, is participating in the organisation of the event.
Pastor Opiyo James and other church leaders are also involved in mobilisation and coordination.
Corral’s digital reach
Organisers also highlighted Dr. Corral’s growing digital audience, saying her Bible teachings have attracted millions of views online.
According to figures presented at the press conference, 31 short-form Bible teachings produced between October 2025 and August 2026, alongside a long-form video, generated more than 64 million views.
Organisers said her lifetime online video views have surpassed 77 million, while her six top-performing Instagram Reels have accumulated more than 7.1 million views.
They said the digital reach would help extend the conference’s message beyond the pastors and Christian leaders attending physically in Kampala.
The East Africa Fire and Anointing Conference will take place on August 24 and 25 at the Sharing Youth Centre in Kampala.
Organisers have invited pastors, bishops and other Christian leaders to attend the gathering, which they say will strengthen Christian fellowship, promote leadership and advance spiritual renewal across Uganda and the wider East African region.
