Dr. Michelle Corral Takes Conference Message to Katanga Slum

KAMPALA, Uganda — August 26, 2026 — The message of faith, compassion and service preached during the two-day East Africa Fire and Anointing Pastors Conference moved beyond the church auditorium this week as Dr. Michelle Corral joined an outreach programme serving hundreds of residents of Katanga slum in Kampala.

Rather than ending her Uganda mission with the conclusion of the conference, Corral took the message of service directly to one of Kampala’s most vulnerable communities, where residents received free meals and access to medical services during a community outreach.

The initiative provided food to hundreds of people, including children, families and other residents facing difficult living conditions. For many beneficiaries, the meal offered not only immediate relief but also a moment of dignity and human connection.

The outreach also included a medical camp, giving residents an opportunity to receive basic health services and medical attention without the financial burden that often prevents people in low-income communities from seeking care.

The visit gave a practical dimension to the message delivered during the East Africa Fire and Anointing Pastors Conference, which brought together pastors and Christian leaders from Uganda and other African countries for two days of prayer, preaching, fellowship and reflection.

For Corral, the Katanga outreach demonstrated that faith should extend beyond the pulpit and translate into tangible support for people in need.

The scene in Katanga was markedly different from the conference setting. Instead of pastors and worshippers gathered for preaching and prayer, the focus was on families receiving food, residents seeking medical attention and community members interacting with the visiting team.

The outreach also highlighted the importance of combining spiritual ministry with practical interventions that address everyday challenges faced by vulnerable communities.

Residents welcomed the initiative, with beneficiaries expressing appreciation for the food and medical services provided.

The Katanga programme therefore became more than a post-conference activity. It offered a visible example of how the themes of compassion and service associated with the conference could be carried into the wider community.

As the two-day conference came to an end, Corral’s visit to Katanga left a different but equally important message: the work of faith does not have to stop when the preaching ends. It can continue through a meal shared, a patient treated and a community served.
