President Museveni Bids Farewell to Outgoing Sudanese Ambassador

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has bid farewell to the outgoing Sudanese Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Ahmed Ibrahim, following the completion of his four-year tour of duty.

President Museveni received Ambassador Ibrahim on Tuesday at State House Entebbe, where they held a farewell meeting focused on the longstanding relations between Uganda and Sudan.

Ambassador Ibrahim expressed appreciation to President Museveni, the Government and people of Uganda for the warm welcome, friendship and support extended to him and the Sudanese community during his tenure.

He said he had come to regard Uganda as a second home, particularly appreciating Uganda’s solidarity with the Sudanese people following the outbreak of conflict in Sudan in April 2023.

The envoy commended the Ugandan Government and people for the hospitality extended to Sudanese nationals who sought refuge in the country amid the conflict.

He described Uganda’s response as a demonstration of the strong bonds of friendship and solidarity between the two countries, saying the support would remain deeply appreciated by the Sudanese people.

Ambassador Ibrahim said Uganda’s solidarity during the difficult period would further strengthen the longstanding relationship between Kampala and Khartoum.

President Museveni thanked Ambassador Ibrahim for his service and contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Uganda and Sudan.

President Yoweri Museven also wished the outgoing envoy success in his future assignments.

The farewell meeting underscored the enduring ties between Uganda and Sudan and the commitment of both countries to further strengthening their bilateral relations.
